Art collection

Sculptures, paintings and graphics from the period between the 14th and 20th centuries form the collection. Among the works of statuary art, the ones made by Maribor's baroque sculpturer Jožef Straub stand out, as well as tombstones and armorial plates. The Styrian painter Hans A. Weissenkircher’s altarpieces are the most important religious paintings in the collection. Among the profane works, the most important paintings are from European painters of the 17th and 18th centuries (M. Bechtl, F. Snyders, J. Fyt, P. van Kessel, A. Mezzadri, J. H. Schoenfeld, I. Flurer, T. Porta). Significant graphics (17th-20th centuries) display panoramas of Maribor and other Styrian places.
